Barbershop Harmony Society

Founded in 1938 as the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, Inc. (SPEBSQSA), the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) preserves and extends the reach of a uniquely American close harmony musical art form whose roots lie in African-American improvisation and European harmony traditions. Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee since 2007, our nonprofit organization provides active programs and resources in music education, publishing, performance, and community outreach.

Denver Mile High Chapter

The Denver Mile High Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society brings people together through music. Everyone In Harmony!

We are comprised of three choruses:

  • Sound of the Rockies (All Male)
  • The Timberliners (Adult Mixed)
  • 52eighty (Youth Mixed)

Sound of the Rockies

Sound of the Rockies (SOR) is proud to call Denver home. Over the past ten years, SOR has finished in the top ten at Barbershop Harmony Society International competitions. Currently, the chorus is ranked sixth in the world. SOR has won 17 straight Rocky Mountain District championships. The chorus has released five full-length CDs and has been featured on numerous compilations. SOR embraces music in the Barbershop style but also performs traditional and modern music — sometimes with instrumental acoompaniment.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout.
